The Swingcats announce their up and coming 2009 Spring/Summer tour!

"Hold Tight"! A Tribute To The Andrews Sisters

Inspired by the finest harmony group of the last century "The Andrews Sisters", this all-new show  will feature songs made famous by Patty, Laverne and Maxine – “Don’t Sit Under The Apple Tree”, "The Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy”, “Rum And Coca Cola” and “Apple Blossom Time” amongst others. The Swingcats will re-create that magical era of forties swing and for the first time, will tour accompanied by their band of top-class musicians. With wonderful songs, dance routines and period costume, you will be transported back to a time when music was at its finest and glamour was all the rage. See our "Playing Live" page for dates and please check periodically as further shows will be added.

The Swingcats perform with The Glenn Miller Orchestra.

The girls are always excited whenever they have the opportunity to perform with other musicians, especially when it's the evocative and classic sound of a swing band to provide the perfect accompaniment to their retro 40's sound. Who better to deliver this than The Glenn Miller Orchestra. Formed in 1988 in conjunction with Glenn Miller Productions of New York, The Glenn Miller Orchestra has maintained the exact line-up on stage devised by Glenn himself, consisting of the leader, five saxophones, four trumpets, four trombones and rhythm section.

The Cats performed as their special guests in two concerts in September and are pleased to announce further new dates for February and March next year. Go to our  Playing live page for more info on these concerts and other Swingcat shows.
